The Initial Consultation
When you schedule an initial consultation, a product specialist will come to your home for an evaluation at a time that’s convenient for you. They’ll discuss the different window and door styles that we offer, make recommendations based on your personal needs and style preferences, take measurements, and give you a quote that is good for a year – all in one visit.
If you decide to move ahead with your new windows and doors, a service specialist will return to your home to take a second measurement, just to ensure that all the specifications are correct and precise. We will then place the order and manufacture your new windows and doors using only the highest quality un-recycled materials to ensure superior quality.
Window or Door Installation
When your windows and doors are ready, we’ll contact you to set an installation date. To prepare for your professional window and door installation, we ask that you please remove all window treatments from your windows and doors prior to our arrival. We also ask that you clear the work areas of any furnishings that might get in the way, and that you make sure all pets and small children remain safely away from the work area during the installation process. How long does the installation of a window or door take?
Depending on the state of the existing windows or door and the frame (whether there is rot present), it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours per window or door. After the initial consultation, your Brookstone product specialist may be able to give you a more accurate time estimate.
When is the best time of year to have a window or door installed?
We recommend a window replacement during a time of year when the weather will be warm, ideally in the spring or early summer. These times fill up quickly, so we recommend planning early and having a consultation so your new windows and doors can be installed during the warmer months.
Do I need to prepare my house for an installation?
We’ll do the hard work, though we ask that you clear the work areas of any furnishings that might get in the way, and that you make sure all pets and small children remain safely away from the work area during the installation process.
